Abstract
Literacy is a crucial aspect that plays a significant role in the development of children's language skills, including speaking, writing, reading, and listening. The Home Environmental Literacy Program aims to address the challenges in early reading among 2nd-grade students at SD N 1 Karangklesem. This program was initiated due to some students facing difficulties in starting their reading activities. To solve this issue, an innovative approach was needed to find a solution. The research aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the implementation of the Home Environmental Literacy Program, its impact, and the challenges encountered during its implementation. The research was conducted at SD N 1 Karangklesem, involving parents of the students. The study utilized a qualitative descriptive research design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validation was conducted using triangulation of sources and techniques. The research conducted at SD N 1 Karangklesem yielded data indicating that the implementation of the Home Environmental Literacy Program has great potential as a solution to overcome early reading difficulties in 2nd-grade classrooms. However, there were challenges faced during its implementation, such as the availability of parents' time and student interest.
