EXTRACURRICULAR ROLE IN SHAPING THE CHARACTER OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract
Extracurricular activities are an additional activity in school that is generally carried out outside of class hours where this activity aims to deepen and develop what is learned during the learning process in the classroom and can develop students' interests and talents. In this study, the method used is a literature review study, where this study aims to analyze the role of extracurricular in shaping the character of elementary school students. The data from this study is sourced from several literature sources with the same reading topic and then analyzed based on the study of literature studies. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the role of extracurricular activities in building the character of elementary school students is very important. This can be seen from the definition of extracurriculars, which are activities outside of class hours that aim to deepen and develop what is learned during the learning process in the classroom and can develop students' interests and talents through real activities related to daily life and can educate student character, especially student discipline character.
